Our beloved Dalit Leader Ch. Chand Ram, who has been theDy. Chief Minister of United Punjab Govt. and Union Shipping Minister of Indiahas departed on June 15, 2005 at the age of 92 years. He was the real leader ofdowntrodden, who started agitation at Rajghat, New Delhi for giving the land tolandless people from the Haryana Govt. and got success. He filled up the'Reservation Quta of SC/ST' in Transport Ministry when he was union minister andthus made the thousand of Dalits as Transport Owner. He always fought for theFundamental Rights of Depressed-Oppressed people of the country. Ch. Chand Ramwho was not only a leader but he was good writer & Editor of 'Jagata Insan'Newspaper. He was the patron of B.D.S.A. and always associated with DalitAwakening movement of B.D.S.A. in the country. B.D.S.A. feciliated him with theDr. Ambedkar National Award. We pay our heartiest tribute to Ch. Chand Ram forhis life long contribution to Dalit Samaj. He will be always remembered by usfor his life long distinguished services.
